Flipside of the Bird’s Eye View page in my Dina Wakley Media large journal. It was bothering me that you could see some of the quote on the previous page when you flipped it over, so I created words from those letters that were showing. You can see what I mean in the second picture. Background is another mop up page from leftover acrylic paints. I added flower petals cut from old book pages around the circle that had been cut in the face from the previous page. I used more circles cut from the Dina Wakley Media Collage Collective and drew more circles that I painted to compliment the colors in the cut outs and those that peeked through from the other page. I used a Stabilo All pencil to trace the outline of the opposite trimmed page for some repetition of pattern.
Bird’s Eye View. “Be like a peacock and dance with all of your beauty” – Debasish Mridha. The background started as a mop up page for excess acrylic paints and gesso on my palette in my Dina Wakley Media large journal. I used the Dina Wakley Media Collage Collective for the face and bird. The feathers are cut from a piece of decorative tissue paper and collaged on the pages. I cut the hole over one eye so you could see through to the bird on the next page (which is a work in progress!) and did some scribble writing around the circle. I used Posca black & white paint pens to highlight the feathers and a Stabilo All pencil around the edges.
Flower doodles in my large Dina Wakley Media Journal with Collage Words. Dollar store bee stamp from my stash.
Page in my handsewn junk journal. Used Dina Wakley Media Collage Collective, washi tapes and paints. Words are from old book pages.
Colorful page in my repurposed magazine junk journal using Dina Wakley Media paints in Lemon, Tangerine, Cheddar, Ruby and Fuchsia, Collage Collective and a water soluble graphite pencil.
Derwent Inktense Outliner pencil over Dina Wakley acrylic paints in Lemon and Magenta and gesso on a collage page in my handsewn junk journal. Love how all the edges of the torn pages show through. Makes it look medieval to me.
Titled by hubby ’cause her face is pretty wonky and crooked. Just playing with my Dina Wakley acrylic paints in my handsewn junk journal on this grey, freezing rain yucky day!
Way behind in my postings. Page in my large Dina Wakley Media Journal. Used Dina’s Collage Tissue, Collage Words, stencil/mask and paints; Turquoise, Lime and Night.
Pencil sketch watercolored with Dina Wakley Media Scribble Sticks and colored pencils. I cut leaves from a gel plate print and glued them onto the branches. The sentiment is from Dina’s collage words. I used a Posca pen to redraw the lines of the sketch and created the border with Dina’s washi tape.
