Be Kind To You

Pencil sketch watercolored with Dina Wakley Media Scribble Sticks and colored pencils. I cut leaves from a gel plate print and glued them onto the branches. The sentiment is from Dina’s collage words. I used a Posca pen to redraw the lines of the sketch and created the border with Dina’s washi tape.

Heart’s Delight

The music sheet title from the background collage started the inspiration for this creation, as well as a childhood photo I keep in my studio that always makes me smile.

What’s Your Story?

Pencil and water soluble graphite sketch on a gessoed page in my giant moleskine sketchbook.  I used  Dina Wakley media collage tissue, Scribble Sticks in Umber and Elephant and Umber acrylic paint.

Do Not Feed the Fears

This seemed an appropriate sentiment for the big fearful look in her eyes. Some journaling about overcomimg fears and daring to see what happens. Inspired by Dina Wakley’s new product releases at Creativation trade show in Arizona.  From her products, I used washi tapes, collage tissue and paints: Turquoise, Magenta and Night.

Bloom Where You Are Planted

Tonight’s painty doodle play. Needed some bright colors on this very cold snowy/sleety yucky day. Tissue collage background with acrylic paint, stenciling and stamping. Doodled flowers with Stabilo All pencil and Posca pens.bloom

But First Coffee

But First Coffee. Inspired by the quote on my sweetener packet this morning. You never know where inspiration will come from! First I sketched my girl in pencil, then collaged the coffee cup image with matte medium, covering the entire page to seal it. I used Faber Castell Pitt pens to color and shade and a black Posca pen to outline and highlight.

Quirky Girl

My Fun Fab 3/4 Portrait final result from following Karen Campbell’s You Tube tutorial. I used pencil, colored pencil and gel pen. Love her quirky characters and Karen’s perky personality. She can also be found on Instagram @karencampbellartist.

Flower Girl

Inspired by Pam Gillespie (@sewcrazi) and the flowers atop her girls heads lately. Check out her art on Instagram and You Tube. She’s so talented and fun to listen to. My girl was fun to create, but not too crazy about how the watercolors worked on top of the gessod surface of my journal though. Live and learn, that’s the name of the game!

Blessed

Nothing like a painty fun filled play date with friends to warm up a cold winter day.
