The Bright Side

Flipside of the Bird’s Eye View page in my Dina Wakley Media large journal. It was bothering me that you could see some of the quote on the previous page when you flipped it over, so I created words from those letters that were showing. You can see what I mean in the second picture. Background is another mop up page from leftover acrylic paints. I added flower petals cut from old book pages around the circle that had been cut in the face from the previous page. I used more circles cut from the Dina Wakley Media Collage Collective and drew more circles that I painted to compliment the colors in the cut outs and those that peeked through from the other page. I used a Stabilo All pencil to trace the outline of the opposite trimmed page for some repetition of pattern.

Bird’s Eye View

Bird’s Eye View. “Be like a peacock and dance with all of your beauty” – Debasish Mridha. The background started as a mop up page for excess acrylic paints and gesso on my palette in my Dina Wakley Media large journal. I used the Dina Wakley Media Collage Collective for the face and bird. The feathers are cut from a piece of decorative tissue paper and collaged on the pages. I cut the hole over one eye so you could see through to the bird on the next page (which is a work in progress!) and did some scribble writing around the circle. I used Posca black & white paint pens to highlight the feathers and a Stabilo All pencil around the edges.

Spring Dreams. Oil pastel crayons and charcoal pencils over collage.

Paradise

Paradise

Paradise. Playing with my Lyra Aquacolor water-soluble crayons and luscious Stamperia Rice Paper Decoupage sheet gifted to me by a dear friend. Of course I had to paint a girl in to enjoy the scene.

Be Strong

Way behind in my postings. Page in my large Dina Wakley Media Journal. Used Dina’s Collage Tissue, Collage Words, stencil/mask and paints; Turquoise, Lime and Night.

Bloom Where You Are Planted

Tonight’s painty doodle play. Needed some bright colors on this very cold snowy/sleety yucky day. Tissue collage background with acrylic paint, stenciling and stamping. Doodled flowers with Stabilo All pencil and Posca pens.bloom

Tranquil Tuesday with Jane – Final Magenta Design Team Post

Fond Farewell.

Magenta Final

It is with mixed emotions that I say goodbye to my Magenta family. I am sad to leave, for when I joined the Design Team, it truly was a dream come true. It has been an invaluable and thrilling experience. But, the time has come to pursue other dreams, and I am excited to be able devote more time to those passions. I wish everyone at Magenta, and all of you, the happiest of holidays and all the best the future holds.

Tranquil Tuesday with Jane – Magenta Design Team Post

Season’s Greetings! I hope my card helps to get you in the mood for all the festivities ahead.

Magenta 12-4-18

I applied translucent embossing paste through the Leafy Wreath stencil onto watercolor paper. When dry, I added Distress Oxide Inks in Bundled Sage and Peeled Paint and spritzed with water. I stamped portions of the Old Script stamp in several areas on the card with Fern Green Archival Ink as well as inking the edges with it. I traced 2 sizes of the Bow Shapes stencil onto red cardstock, cut them out, shaped and stacked them on the card and applied some flat-backed pearls.
