Tranquil Tuesday with Jane – Magenta Design Team Post

Playing with lots of layers today creating this mixed media canvas.

Magenta 11-6-18

I started with a layer of cheesecloth and added texture paste, fluid acrylic inks, india ink, stamping and acrylic paints. Love all the texture.

Today, I have created a simple ATC, that makes me think of the Autumn breeze.

Magenta 10-2-18

I used Distress Inks in Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss. I heat embossed the sentiment and did some doodling with black and white pens.

Starry Night – Magenta DT Post

With the days getting longer, I am dreaming of summer nights and walks in the moonlight. How I would love to stumble across a scene like this.

Magenta Post

I created this art journal page using one of my all time favorite stamps, the Heron. I started by masking off the page to create a nice crisp border. I added Dylusions acrylic paint in London Blue with a foam applicator across the entire page.

Magenta 1

Using my finger, I smudged Dylusions After Midnight onto a few areas of the page.

Magenta 2

I watered down some white paint to create splatters for stars.

Magenta 3

I stamped the images with Versafine Onyx Black ink, then painted the Heron white.

Magenta 4

Carefully remove the masking tape when page is dry.

Merry Christmas Elf

Just a little late night play in my art journal using pen and watercolor.

Happy Christmas To All – Magenta DT Post

And to all a good night….

My card is reminiscent of hanging our stockings on Christmas Eve when the world seemed full of wonder.Magenta Dec post

I cut watercolor paper to the same size as the 5″ x 5″ Poinsettias and Swirls stencil, then applied Cobalt Archival Ink thru the stencil with a blending tool.

I stamped the sentiment on the border, then the two Evergreen Branch stamps using Olive Archival Ink (using a piece of paper to mask off the area with the sentiment).

I added “berries” to the branches with a red marker. I added snow to the background with a white pen. I stamped red cardstock with the Christmas Song – Music Sheet stamp for added visual texture and traced the poinsettia mask several times, fussy cut them, and layered them on the border.

I stamped the Christmas Morning – Children and Christmas Socks stamp with Black Archival Ink on watercolor paper and painted it with Nuance Powders and attached it with foam tape.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy holiday season.

Winter Wonderland – Magenta DT Post

Not sure if I am ready, but: Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Magenta 12-3

First, I sprinkled Cerulean Blue Nuance powder onto a 5″ x 8″ tag cut from watercolor paper. I spritzed it with water to activate the color.

Next, I mixed Royal Blue and Grey Nuance powders into some Faber-Castell Glass Bead Glitter Gel on my craft mat and applied it through the Star template, as it reminded me of a snowflake.

I stamped the Christmas Tree Collage Stamp with Cobalt Archival Ink onto watercolor paper and embossed with clear embossing powder for some extra shimmer. I layered the image on blue cardstock, added some ribbon, and mounted it to the tag with foam tape.

It is difficult to see in the pictures, but the multi-colored sparkle from the gel is incredible. Here is a close up.

I hope you stay warm and cozy this winter and have a blessed holiday season.
