Bird’s Eye View. “Be like a peacock and dance with all of your beauty” – Debasish Mridha. The background started as a mop up page for excess acrylic paints and gesso on my palette in my Dina Wakley Media large journal. I used the Dina Wakley Media Collage Collective for the face and bird. The feathers are cut from a piece of decorative tissue paper and collaged on the pages. I cut the hole over one eye so you could see through to the bird on the next page (which is a work in progress!) and did some scribble writing around the circle. I used Posca black & white paint pens to highlight the feathers and a Stabilo All pencil around the edges.

Inspired by the title of the vintage music sheet I collaged in my journal. Loved the words of the song.

Playing in my repurposed magazine journal that I use for mop up of extra paint from other projects. Decided I needed to start using up some of my old paints and scraps in my stash.

First Day of Spring

Lynda's Canvas 2

“Where flowers bloom so does hope” – Lady Bird Johnson. Daffodils are my favorite flower and they are just starting to poke through the still frozen ground in the garden closest to the house. The rest of the yard is still inches deep with snow, but I have hope we will soon be seeing green! I created this on a 17″x13″ canvas board gifted to me by a friend. I started with collage, using a bunch of scraps of painted papers in my stash, then layered with acrylic and chalk paints and stencils. Drew and painted my daffodil and girl, then painted over the busy background. I framed it in with Paper Artsy chalk paints through a stencil and smeared a Distress Crayon over the edges. Love all the underlying texture!
